Last shift at the Emporium

Even though I might have complained at times,
and wanted to play in the parks more than go to work...
I'm really going to miss this place!

It was extremely hard and frustrating at times working in one of the busiest stores in the world!
Let's be honest here... I got sworn at daily, told that "I ruined whole vacations", and even occasionally threatened for things far out of my control. But as I look back now I wouldn't change one minute of it!
I learned a lot about myself, I learned a lot about the world, I met some amazing people (coworkers and guests), and I made some great friends!

I cannot even believe that it is time for this experience to come to an end! The next few days are going to be filled with some tough goodbyes!

Surprise visits

PS - That Minnie wall is my handiwork
{Even though some kid came along and destroyed it 2 seconds later....}
I'm pretty proud

Reunited

There's nothing quite like the feeling of being reunited with your family after not being able to see them for 5 months!!

Disney life is a good life.

  • Work lots and when you don't; play at the parks.
  • Seeing characters in the break room never gets old.
  • Discounts on cool things like Chick-fil-A, pedicures, and Medieval Times. (1-800-WeJoust)
  • Special events. Such as the Mickey's Not So Very Scary Boo To You Halloween Parade Premier.
  • Greet little princesses and pirates all day long.
  • Character hunting is addicting. Don't believe me? Try it for yourself.
  • Random free mickey bars.
  • Dancing to the parades is encouraged.
  • Headaches from wearing crowns. Seriously? Who else can say that?
  • Nightly firework shows

I signed my soul to Disney

(Not really, but after several hours of pamphlets, paperwork, and non-stop information it sure did feel that way.)
Yesterday I:
Checked into the Disney World College Program.
Found out where I will be living.
Moved into my apartment.
Met many new friends.
Including my 7 roommates.
Erin.
Ashlee.
Kristin.
Mary.
Danee.
Ali.
Janelle.
Found out where I will be working.
Magic Kingdom - Main Street West.
Looking forward to getting a fabulous Disney costume.
Pictures to come soon.
Got fingerprinted & background checked.
Made a giant 2 shopping cart Super Target run.
Had dinner with my parents.
First meal of the day?
Did some more room organization.
Showered.
Crashed on my bed.

Today I:
Pulled my crazy humidified hair up.
Made a giant grocery shopping run.
Publix & Super Target (again).
Stocked my cupboard and fridge shelf.
(Don't worry I've got a secret snack drawer in my room too)
Attended a meeting of rules and regulations.
Said goodbye to my parents.
Maybe shed a few tears.
(Okay... not maybe. I did.)
Had good chats with the roomies.
Hid from the (Florida Style) rain.
Pool/Dance Party @ Vista Way.
Free Food!
Met many more new friends.
Protected Danee from creeper tattoo wife-beater man.
Highfived green spandex suit man.
Did 6 minute abs with the roomies.
(It was purely awesome! I'm not sure if my abs were more worked out from the video or from laughing?)
Had a wonderful phone conversation with Devininkus.
And now here I am blogging this post.

The past 2 days have SPED by!
I still have lots to figure out.
Like bus routes and where to put the mixing bowls that are currently located on my bedroom floor.
I'm totally exhausted.
So I'm glad that I have the later Traditions Class tomorrow.
(12:45 vs 6:45am)
And then me and the roomies are going to play in Disney World!! Woot Woot!

I miss everyone very much!
But I am extremely happy for this opportunity!I am glad that I pushed myself out of my comfort zone;Sometimes you just have to follow your heart and believe you can do it!It feels good!
The next week is going to be full of new things, and I'm so excited and ready!

P.S. - Sorry no pictures yet!
But i'm sure there will be plenty in the future!

The Happiest Job on Earth

Tomorrow I am...
moving to Florida and working at
Disney World

The job will be in retail
 long hours,
and only minimum wage
but I'm still really excited!

This is a huge opportunity for me to learn and grow in a new setting. I'm a little bit scared of all the unknowns to come, but I'm more ready for all the ways I'll be able to grow!

So start making plans to travel to Florida and come visit me!

Will work for food...

I'm poor.

It's horrible!! I've found out that being grown-up is really quite expensive! And I'm not even having to pay for housing or food or medicine/insurance and such things yet!!

Anywho... my dear mother offered to pay me to make her some cards. She is a sweetheart because she knows how much I love crafting! So it feels like I should be paying her for giving me a legit reason to make cards!

She specifically requested that she needed baby and wedding cards. So I started off with making her a variety of baby cards.

Basically I just used the same idea but changed the colors for the genders, but here are some pictures of what I've done so far.

The Girls:

The Boys:

If anyone every needs or wants cards made {or knows someone who needs or wants cards made}feel free to holler my direction. I do not claim to be any kind of a professional. I just really love making cards.
And that's got to count for something.
Right?

8.17.2010

Last week of summer and I work at least once every day!

That means:
1) No lake excursions
2) No trip to Provo; visiting Lindsay and Greg
3) N0 trip to Vegas; shopping with Erin and Emily

Talk about a major bummer!

A BAJILLION and 2 Cupcakes

Well actually only 57 to be exact. And yes... I did count them. However I shall not bring home anymore cupcakes because I am unable to resist their deliciousness and therefore am forced to devour them! I'm getting fat. Oh wait... I already was. But the cupcakes are not helping the situation!

{But I must say that the Toasted Coconut is still my fav! Like heaven in my mouth! Yum!!}

Pebbles and Sweet Tooth Fairies

I'm pretty sure I have the two best jobs in the whole world right now! I mean seriously how can you not be happy when you are working with cupcakes and scrapbooking supplies all day?! Really though... it's just a great day every work day!

I've been working at Pebbles In My Pocket for about 2 years now, and i've loved every minute of it so far! I love creating things and there is inspiration all around at Pebbles. My only complaint is that every time new products come in I want to buy them all!

Just this week I started working at The Sweet Tooth Fairy and I couldn't be happier! It's the cutest place I've ever seen! Beautiful gourmet cupcakes in an adorably decorated shop. If you've never been to a Sweet Tooth Fairy store I suggest you go right this very second! Because it is an amazing experience and you are sure to go back!! I just pray that I don't gain 50+ pounds from working there!
