President's Weekend

I had SO much fun this President's weekend!! It started out with speakers on full blast, ipod on shuffle, and a drive to see some of my most favorite people:

Weekend highlights:

- Going to the pet store where I decided that I'm buying a ferret and she'll be so stylish in this little pink bedazzled sweater!

- Checking out several cute cupcake stores. And purchasing myself some cupcake bandaids.

- Disco Night at Classic Skate. Besides it being just down right awesomely fun, I'm quite a sucker for good disco-era music! It also brought back great memories of going to the roller rink with my dad when I was little!

- Sunday dinner at Aunt Margy's. She's the best!! She gave us crazy straws that were leftover from her 3rd grade Valentine's party. Pretty sure her 3rd graders are more mature then us.... oh well!

- My new keychain from Kneaders. It's quite the lovely edition if I do say so myself!

Then throw in some movies, nail painting, shopping, new shoes, good food, and lots of laughs - and it all adds up to a pretty-darn fantastic weekend!! 

I do not want to go back to reality of school and work tomorrow!

When I got home from work on Saturday I was greeted by a sweet surprise from my valentine:

{Beautiful flowers, a sweet card, and a Valentines room!}

I was quite surprised! 

I really had no idea that Devin was planning this!

He is such a sweetheart!

I love my festive room! 

{I still haven't fully cleaned it up yet cause I love it so much!}

Then on Monday morning I woke up to a loud knock on my bedroom door and this waiting outside:

Isn't it adorable?!

It's perfect in my room!

I couldn't believe it!

My parents are just too kind!

And on Monday afternoon I received a package with this inside:

The Dandy Lion shirt!

I can't even tell you how much I wanted this!

Lindsay and Greg know me too well!

 There was also this card in the package:

Inside: "Hope you don't mind that I gave him your number"

Hahaha! I still can't get over how awesomely funny this card is!

I felt so loved this Valentines! 

However, I know that I'm loved every other day of the year too! I'm just so grateful for the amazing people that are in my life!

Today {February 14th} I wore pink

Just like on March 17th I'll wear green

And on July 4th I'll wear red and blue

{I'm a sucker for these kind of things}

Somedays I feel like...

• school should still have snack time
• homework should still be coloring with crayons
• my bedtime should still be 7 o'clock...

Somedays I fell like I am still this age...

Jasmine Marie Day

See this beautiful woman. She is my bestest friend! {However, she might beat me up for stealing her picture off of facebook. But it's a risk I'm willing to take!} She's truly the best! Besides being a total babe she's the greatest person to be around too!

We became friends back in sophomore year of high school when she asked me to share a ceramics locker with her. Ever since it's been great!!

We're quite silly. We like going on adventures and trying new things. We like to have dance parties and sing together in the car. We love to quote movies and have a million inside jokes. We love food and cooking/baking. We shop til we drop and then shop some more. But mostly we just have fun. 

We're really lucky to have had the opportunity to travel to several great places together. I'll never forget these fabulous trips with her.

This picture probably depicts our friendship the best. We have a way of making each other laugh. A lot. And very loudly. There's not many people who can make me laugh harder. 

I found this sweet note from her on my car the other day. It's what inspired me to write this post.It made me quite happy inside. Because I love this woman. A lot.

But, it made me a bit sad too.

Life has been so crazy since Christmas that I haven't really been able to see my dear friend. And I miss her. A lot.

So. My dear Jasmine,

 If you happen to be blog stalking me one day and come across this post... Please give me a call! I miss you! And for some reason I can't find you these days! I don't think you are getting my texts. 

I couldn't get out of bed today.

Literally.

I couldn't physically get out of bed.

Sweet Valentines Treats

So I've always been a fan of Valentines!{Even  when I didn't have someone in particular to spend it with.} I just like the thought of celebrating love and loved ones! And as a part of celebrating Valentines I like to make fun/festive treats for friends and family!

Now that I've had my first experience with cakepops I'm ready for my next experience!! Maybe I'll try making these cute Valentines ones.

Or maybe I'll make some of these cute Valentines cupcakes?

Kids are so seriously so smart!

Superbowl XLV

We were excited for the Superbowl! 

Devin was excited to watch the Steelers play for the championship and I was excited for the party we were going to have.

Bill, Jan, Devin, The Ekkers, Uncle Marc, Aunt Suzanne, and myself gathered together for a fun little Superbowl sunday.

Devin made sure to prepare the house for the festivities by drawing the teams' logos on our back doors with window paint. {He was a good sport and drew the Packer's logo too.} He also wrote down all of our guesses for the final score.

{Uncle Marc had the closest guess on the final score (27-30 Packers)}

We also had quite a feast of snacks!! Ribs, pigs-in-a-blanket, fruit tray, veggie tray, breadsticks with alfredo and marinara sauce, cereal treat, and I had fun experimenting with making us some chocolate football cakepops.

It was actually quite a good game to watch! I also had fun watching Devin, Derek, and Dylan turned some yellow rags into their own set of terrible towels to cheer on the Steelers with.

Unfortunately, the Steelers lost to the Packers 25-31. I felt bad because Devin was quite sad to see his team loose. But overall we both had a great night!!

Ru-boo's turned 2!

It was our cute little Ruben's birthday yesterday! He hosted a great little celebration and partied his little heart out!!

He's become quite feisty, talkative, and daring as he's grown up.

So far, he's only gotten one set of stitches, but we all know this is just the first of many!! He's already quite the heartbreaker! All the little girls have a crush on him!

It's been so fun having him apart of our lives and watching him grow! I can't believe he's already 2!

While checking out the blog "Crap I've Made"I found this adorable Valentines banner! It doesn't look too complicated to make.... So I think I'm going to give it a whirl!

I also couldn't help but think how cute it could be to use this same idea and make a Happy Birthday banner! Or a cute Christmas and/or Halloween banner! There are such cute fabric choices these days that I can only imagine all the cute combinations of banners that could be made!!
